Subject: Spoken Numbers_World Record- Ms Hu XueYan Profile.

When I was 41 years old, I accidentally saw a sentence in a book: “Your brain is better than you think!” This sentence aroused my great curiosity, so I bought a series of books written by the author of this book, Mr. Tony Buzan. These books are like a key that opened another door in my brain. From then on, memory training became the fun of my life! It also made me truly realize that age is not an obstacle. As long as scientific methods are used, everyone can become a memory master! In 2017, I participated in the World Memory Championship initiated by Mr. Buzan and got the certificate of “International Master of Memory”. In the following years, I have been training to keep my brain active and healthy.

When I first started training, many seniors told me that listening and memorizing is difficult for people from non-English speaking countries because it requires an extra process of converting English to Chinese. I found that converting codes is easier to practice. As long as you listen more, you can achieve 100% accuracy. The most difficult thing is concentration. Each number is only one second apart, and a short distraction will cause memory failure. Therefore, I used a climbing training method, starting with 40 digits, and adding 40 digits as long as the memory is successful, and finally practiced 660 digits. Of course, in this process, you also need to practice a lot of speed numbers memorization. When I practiced memorizing 40 digits in one go to 9 seconds, it will be much easier to convert listening and memorizing codes into memory palaces.

I am 48 years old this year and I think I have not yet fully utilized all my energy. Next I will continue to train my brain!
